There are two native hard pine species in Michigan - the red pine and the jack pine. Northern Michigan winters can be fierce with harsh temperatures, howling winds and blinding snowstorms. Sometimes the perfect storm sweeps through the pine forest, and coats the trees with a fine line of snow; and sometimes we’re lucky enough to capture that on camera. “Whispering Pines” is available in a variety of print sizes, and as a 4.25x5.5” greeting card.
